COURSES & LEVELS

Touch Rugby rules must be interpreted and applied with absolute consistency wherever and whenever the competition is taking place. USA Touch has developed a training and education system for our referees to ensure that refereeing standards continue to improve, and the rules of the game are applied.

The newly improved Referee Pathway provides a clear career path for touch referees to advance their levels both nationally and internationally. Courses are centered on building practical skills and improve referee performance and this new system allows touch referee education in consistent with the international education standards and ensure the quality consistency across the game in our country.

The redesigned Referee Pathway will be supported by the new USA Touch website and our first online referee course. The Park Level Referee Course will serve as an integral part of the new Referee License. Course registration and administration will be conducted through the USA Touch website.

New referees will certify under the new standards beginning on April 1. Current referees who hold an active certification when the new Referee Pathway goes into effect will retain their current certification and continue officiating as they have been for the rest of the registration year. All current referees will be able to transition seamlessly into the new Pathway to continue their journey as a match official.
